Novvember is here!

Rejoice, for Novvember is here! That's right people, it's time to put your spaceship-building hats on and get down to building a Vic Viper. Brickspace has decided to celebrate Novvember with a new background and logo - for this month only!

The Brickspace guide to Vic Vipers:
1. A Vic Viper is a spaceship from the old Gradius games, though they've appeared in a lot of other things as well. It has a distinct shape with a single cockpit, a top fin, two forward prongs and two side wings.
2. The Vic Viper Lego group was set up by Nnenn and PeterLMorris
3. This November, like November 2008, has been named 'Novvember' in the Lego community. It's prime-time Vic Viper building. Everyone gets together and builds a Viper.
4. Vic Vipers have several key features, which means, if you don't include, your Viper isn't a proper Viper and will probably be deleted from the group. See the full regulations thread here.

5. Last year, Nnenn put together this poster of all the Vipers made in Novvember. This year he will be putting together another poster, but he needs pictures from the special 'Viper Shot' angle, as you can see below:

So, now you know all about Vic Vipers, get building! You've got one whole month to get your Vipers in the Novvember parade, go go go!

I asked Nnenn (Vice General of the Vic Viper Alliance; see picture) whether he thought the new restrictions meant there's less Vic Viper styles, and whether he would ever consider ending Novvember because there simply wasn't enough ideas left. He gave me this answer:
Vic Viper shaping possibilities are truly endless, especially compared to other more limiting genres, like cars for instance... or even human faces: all have the same basic components but are easily distinguishable from each other. And it's sometimes easier to identify personality difference when there's an established baseline from which to work. Besides, loosening the rules becomes too much of what everyone does the rest of the time: trying to come up with something to build.
So, there we have it: Vic Vipers should be here to stay for the foreseeable future. Now then, we've got Novvember to celebrate, so go and build! Here at Brickspace, we'll be showcasing some of the best from this month's parade, so check back often.

Good luck!
~John
