BIG

I just wanted to take a smidgen of your time to talk about BIG (or the Bjarke Ingels Group), a Copenhagen-based architectural agency. They specialise in urbanism, research and development of architectural ideas.

"Wot?" you think.

Well, basically, they're a Danish company that builds some of their ideas with Lego. And they do it brilliantly. Nathan Sawaya, step away: make room for BIG. Their builds are ambitious and fantastic, and they don't stop there. BIG are responsible for some of the greatest architecture in Denmark today, but the one I love the best is (obviously) their Lego project: a gigantic apartment block of the future. Built over numerous days and obviously with many weeks of designing beforehand, BIG's Lego design is an undulating landscape of blocky towers, creating a unique formation of living spaces. See more on BOX's website here (click 'Enter' and try to find the 'LEGO' box).
