STEAM 2009.

BrickCon might have taken place over the weekend but it wasn't the only slice of LEGO goodness happening in the world. In the UK, about 60 members of the Brickish Association held their annual public event at the STEAM Train Museum in Swindon.

STEAM has grown and grown over the years since it started as a trains-only display in 2002. In addition, rather than being a private event for LEGO fans only, it is a display which the general public may attend to view the very finest creations of British LEGO AFOLs.

I attended for my third year running (my second as an exhibitioner) and it's true to say that this year's show was probably the best so far. Certainly the museum experienced record numbers of visitors, with people queuing out the door, in the rain, having apparently scheduled the event in their calendars months in advance.

Occupying two halls, BA members did themselves and the hobby proud, and you can see my complete set of photos of the event in my Flickrstream here.
