Make your own 'Moko Legs'

Moko is a Brickshelf user who is the creator of many techniques that we see used in MOCs today. One of the most popular of these techniques is the 'Moko Legs' technique - which is easy to achieve with only a few pieces. This quick tutorial will take you through how to make your own Moko legs.
For this tutorial, you'll need the only 8 parts: a minifigure torso, two 1x2 grille tiles, two mini antenna bases and three mini antenna sticks:

The key to the Moko leg technique is those antenna sticks: the disc end can fit through the spaces in the grille tile. So, with that in mind, slot an antenna stick through the two grille tiles, making sure the ball end is on the underside of the tiles, and the disc end is on the top. Try to place it roughly in the centre.

Now take your other two antenna sticks and slot them through the other space in the grille tiles, pointing in the other direction. Try to keep them to either side of the slit, whilst the first antenna we placed was centered.

Now put the two antenna bases on the ends of the two antenna sticks you just placed - making sure the third antenna stick has its disc-end pointing upwards.

Now for the moment of truth! Place the legs and the torso like below, with the disc of the third antenna stick perpendicular to the long side of the grille tiles - it should slot into the centre of the X shape in the underside of the torso.

Make sure it's in right by pushing the third antenna stick upwards as much as you can, and then move the grille tiles around until they're in line with the torso. Note that some old torsos do not have an X-shape in the bottom of them, so this technique won't work. It also puts some (not much, but some) stress onto the inside of the torso, so be careful.

Now you have your completed Moko legs, you can expand and create whatever legs you want! Check out some of Moko's designs to get inspiration...
