What a wonderful world.

I don't just like big machines that shoot things, or deadly craft that scream through the reaches of space, I can also appreciate tranquility and peace, and this creation by -2x4- sums this up perfectly for me.  I love the waterfall, the rocks, the trees, the everything.

Yee haw!

Some of the stuff SlyOwl makes just astounds me. All of the rest of it bemuses me with its amazing techniques.

So it will come as no surprise to you that I think SlyOwl's newest creation is fantastic. The sloping on the rocks is unique and well carried-out, and the inside of the mine is meticulously detailed. Of course, there is (as with all MOCs) some problems: the outside ground is a bit empty, and I don't think the rocky-floor effect is very realistic. I'd suggest a desert floor, and maybe a cactus or two.

Apocalypsis II

It's been a fair few weeks since we had our first look at the second episode in Mark Kelso's Apocalypsis story, and now it's finished. You may remember the amazing waterfall scene in the first episode, and the scenery just gets better and better. This time we've got caves, fantastic Photoshop effects, and all the rocky goodness you could ever want. Mark Kelso, I bow to you, master of landscaping.

Hoth kiosk? No, Eth Heosk.

What's that? I'm not blogging Sir Nadroj's latest fantabulous creation? Yeah, I'm not. I thought 'y'know what, I'll let someone else blog it this time. Let's have a bit of variation'. So here is something equally spectacular: the 'Eth Heosk ' diorama by Stenertje , who is a Belgian builder (because of the 'tje' at the end of his name). Though I'm not too sold on the yellow-rock-landscape, I love the little building on the right and the 'embedded' landing pad baseplates. Oh, and that sleek spaceship.

I have to get to Belgium sometime to see this...

Milan Madge's D-Day

Yah, we just missed another annual event. Dang, ever since our new logo I haven't made variations. Damn damn damn.

Well, I am very busy with end-of-year tests and all, so I think I deserve to be let off. Jeez.

Our fan Milan Madge recently sent me an email showing me his latest creation, a diorama re-enactment of D-Day . I especially like the landing craft and the bunker in the wall - excellent placement. The diorama also includes details like anti-boat mine-things and an open-backed bunker so you can see the Nazis climbing the steps behind the cliff. Great stuff.

I've been rather behind lately, but hopefully I can present a few creations that will be of interest. I'd like to start today with a fantastic creation by flickr member Crimson Wolf. Today he brings us the interesting life of a popular bird.
